Four Ways of Looking at a Bicycle

African youth on a bicycle

Here is an excellent article on the importance of bicycles. I’m not riding as much as I would like but I do have my bikes here in Jamaica. I should be taking in some world class mountain biking and instead I’m dragging a trailer with the kids around the beach and West End Negril.

I’m having fun withe the family and the bikes but I’m feeling the need to hit the trails soon. I’m going to start riding more often as soon as things cool off a bit. It’s so hot here in Jamaica that I melted three pairs of shoes into junk last month. I’ll post a pic of that next.

4 Ways of Looking at a Bicycle | Your America | Reader’s Digest

AS A LIFESAVER
Health care workers in Senegal, Namibia, and other African nations usually walk miles over dusty roads to deliver food, medicine, and companionship to people with HIV/AIDS. But with the donation of 1,500 single-speed bicycles by BikeTown Africa, caregivers now visit as many as six times more people in need. The program, a partnership between Bicycling magazine, Kona Bicycle Company, and Bristol-Myers Squibb, has a broad mission: Says Steve Madden, editor-in-chief of Bicycling, “One bike at a time, we can solve big problems and change the world.”

Feds arrest the wrong man for posting Guns and Roses tunes

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

The Feds arrested a blogger who posted some songs from the soon to be released new album by Axl Rose and his newly formed Guns and Roses band. It is my opinion that the real crime commited was by Axl Rose for fucking up the baddest band in the history of music.

I think Axl should be arrested for putting out crap like this new Chinese Demoicracy album and calling it a Guns and Roses album. He should be ashamed at the very least if not put behind bars for wrecking one of the best groups in rock and roll and then taking 15 years to spit out a useless album of such garbage.

Yes, I have heard the album. I was able to download the zip file on Rapidshare and I have the songs on my Zune. It’s shit and Axl probably had the kid arrested just so no one would hear this thing. I think he named it Chinese Democracy because he knows that just like this album will ever have a chance at success neither will Democracy in China.

Now this poor kid faces the Federales for posting some crap mp3 files on his blog because the music industry feels they will lose millions of our hard earned bucks on this steaming pile of crizap. I think they realize the album is junk and they want to make a big stink out of this kids actions so they can blame it on him when the album finally is released and it bombs like democracy in China did.

Maybe we should help the guy out and click some ads on his blog or something?

Feds arrest man accused of posting unreleased Guns N’ Roses songs* | Technology | Los Angeles Times

How he got his hands on the goods, we don’t yet know. But today, police visited the home of a Culver City man and arrested him on suspicion of violating federal copyright law by posting nine previously unreleased Guns N’ Roses songs on a website, Scott Glover reports in this L.A. Times story.

In June, the nine songs, from the band’s upcoming album “Chinese Democracy,” ended up on the website Antiquiet, which drew the attention of the feds. The site received so much traffic that it crashed.

Are You Hardcore? Really?

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Are you hardcore? K’naan is and this song lights a fire under some gangsta ass crappers like 50 cent the “half dollar half a man” and the limp bitches from limp bizcuit. His lyrics are hard and his beats are even harder. No doubt K’naan has seen some shit and you can here it in his music.

This is an unofficial video for his some “Are you hardcore?” put together by some fans from YouTube. The video uses some hardcore footage from Africa and is made to make you think. Be warned it’s graphic and the images of war torn Africa are hardcore.

Bigfoot got away with it

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Looks like Bigfoot was a hoax. It’s a rubber suit in the freezer and the cops are looking for the jokers who committed fraud.

Why use Bigfoot as an internet hoax? Don’t we have enough jokes and scams on the internet?

I hope they catch the crook and he is 8 foot tall, hairy as a henderson and smells like a skunk!

Jah Cure performs on Friday at International Night for Reggae Sumfest 2008

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

I’m a new fan of Jah Cure but I can say it was easy to become a fan of his music rather quickly for me. I really like his latest and most popular album, Reflections. It’s the only one I’ve really listened to and I have not even searched for more as of yet.

I’ve been busy listening to other music and this is the only Cure Album I have. Jah Cure is super hot in Jamaica right now and probably one of the top rising performers in the country. His popularity amongst the females is huge as I witnessed with the number of females who followed him out of the show after 7AM on Friday morning. There was one tall sexy Jamaican girl who kept chanting in a sexy voice “It’s you I love Cure. It’s you I love.” She kept it up as did a dozen others who managed to squeeze backstage after his performance. He drove off in an all black Yukon

I was able to grab a few words with him and his management team from Danger Music but I did not get to spend much time at all. I was being dogged all night by another Jamaican artist who insisted I take his picture with Cure and in chasing the man for the photo my friend annoyed him and I backed off. I got the boss mans linkup and thats nuff for me but it would have been cool to have my pic taken instead of me taking these.

Here is my friend Anthony Able at SumFest with Jah Cure. He wanted the whole world to see him and Cure together and when Cure finally stopped all he could say was something about “all dis for a pik cha mon?’. I guess Anthony and Jah Cure where in jail together back in 1996 and Anthony thought he would be glad to see him. As I thought Jah Cure showed little interest in speaking to a jail house buddy and he blew Anthony off straight up after this picture was taken.
