The New Crib!
Wow! They say time flies when your having fun and I am having a blast. We bought a new house in Ocala and moved in. The deal is set to close on the house in Lauderdale and I am glad to say I have never been so happy. Life in Slocala is so very different from Lauderdale. People seem to be more laid back and relaxed. It's much more like Key West then i had ever remembered. Its been 20 years since I lived here and you can see the changes. There are lots more people and of course cars. Traffic is pretty heavy on some days but never like Lauderdale. Big open roads in the forest make you wanna haul ass. Gotta remind myself to slow down once in awhile.
The new house is awesome. We live 500 feet from a pond that looks more like a lake to me. AJ caught his first fish a few weeks back and has been loving every minute. He has a tree fort and 3 whole acres to run around barefoot in his underwear. We live on a dirt road about half a mile from the paved road or "hard road"as they call it up here. Our property is one of 40 lots in the sub division. All they way around is National Forest and will never be built on. We have two huge lakes on either side with plenty of Bass fishing. I caught my first one in Mill Dam last week. It was 17 inches long and fought like hell. very acrobatic fish, jumps way high and splashes a lot. I actually went today and caught 4 at about 12 inches each. Awesome day actually, all alone on the water and my boat. Didn't see a single person for the whole day. Sweet. I've been tracking through the forest and found all sorts of animal tracks, from raccons, rabbits and fox to deer, bobcats and even a bear we have seen it all already. Had a bobcat in the barn scare the holy shit out of me. Jumped up over my head and hauled ass out so fast I almost shit myself. It was awesome.
I'm planning a garden along the south side of the lot. Our neighbors had one until the goats ate it so I'll have to fence it off first. I already marked it and am looking for the best way to protect it. We bought a trailer and I've been collecting junk like Sanford and Son. I found a construction site with lots of good cleanb lumber. I grabbed as much as I could and will keep hitting them up. i would like to toughen up AJ's fort and maybe expand it a bit. I think we may raise some turkeys. I fried on for Christmas and it was the bomb. Best bird I ever ate. I am the fricking frymaster. I cooked two turkeys and the best chicken wings you ever ate. Have to cook a lot though, damn pnut oil aint cheap.
Christmas was good. Dasha and the Titi tribe were here for 2 weeks. It was nice to have everyone together : ) Even Dustin was here. ( He lives up here with mom now). John stopped in NC and grabbed like a million fireworks, we damn near blew the neighborhood up. It was cool, the neighbors were outside and watching us burn the place up. New Years was Ok also. Tasha and Eric stopped by and we blew off a few more fireworks. Had a little competition with the neighbors to see who made the most noise. Its funny. You blow a fircracker or shoot a gun around here and someone will answer you with theirs. Keep it up and you may get 3 or 4 people shooting back and forth. Cool as hell.
Robbie is huge. The kid eats round the clock. He's about to start solid foods as we can't keep up with breast milk alone. I think he's gonna be a big one. He has an insatiable appetite and is already teething. He laughs a lot and has the most precious smile. He kept the blue eyes and his hair is getting lighter. Its a pale brown o r dirty blond now. Looks like both of us I guess, I don't see much of myself in him but everyone else does. Toni has been living with us but will have her own place soon. jim bought a house a mile down the road. My mom has been coing over every weekend and is finally bonding with AJ. Shes happy to have the grandkids close and excited about the future.
Work is going well. i took a VERY long holiday break but I am getting back to work now. eBay and Amazon are kicking but. I pulled an extra 3k over December. Sweet :) SportsmansMAX is cranking up also. Worked out some kinks and have 28 new clients. Not bad for my first ecom site. I met a guy named Charlie, owns the local bait shack. Perfect place to get my own brick and mortar going. I think I'll sweeten him up and try to buy the joint. Cool little spot on the highway with lots of land and a pond. Makes a great spot for a forest sports store. Maybe the start of my own Walmart :)
Aight, I'm gonna go. It's late and Robbie is crying. Peace out! Live long and prosper and blow it out yer ass!
